PURGATOIRE URBAIN

Photographic print on Plexiglas, 70 × 100 cm, 2024.

During daily walks, the artist reflects on the recurring presence of calligraphic or hand-drawn traces left by passersby on the dusty shop windows of Roman storefronts. These urban compositions—collective and constantly evolving—often go unnoticed by distracted pedestrians, yet they conceal messages of love, insults, or various provocations. Seeking to fix this ephemeral image, the artist captures the silhouette of a passerby—half Cupid, half satyr—evoking the enduring presence of mythology in the city.
