KOMATSU

Drawing-installation. Triptych. Brick debris dust on glass plate, light projection, 2023.

Komatsu is a project bearing witness to the demolition of my family home in Buenos Aires in 2021.
From a neighboring balcony, my brother documented the gradual disappearance of our house, sending photos to the family chat and capturing each stage of the process.

As the images unfold, a mural inspired by a Van Gogh landscape, which I painted in my youth in the kitchen and which had witnessed so many gatherings, briefly reappears among the rubble.

Triptyque Komatsu, dans le cadre de l’exposition Mon beau logis, Bureau d’Art et de Recherche, Roubaix, 2023.

My childhood home is slowly disintegrating. My brother records the process from a neighboring balcony. A mural of a Van Gogh painting I did years ago still stands in the kitchen. ¨You never thought it could be touched by the sun”, he told me.
