VESTIGIUM
charcoal powder, acrylic paint and graphite on paper
110×125 cm, 2019.
Vestigium is a drawing created from the imprint left by an OSB (Oriented Strand Board) panel soaked in paint on paper. I use the random trace left by this panel made of compressed wood flakes as a guide to reconstruct a drawing. Little by little, the composition emerges almost unconsciously, and a forest destroyed by flames reappears. Among the remaining trunks, different animals can be perceived. I like to think that, in a way, the composition that resurfaced from the material is a kind of memory embedded within it.
